Donations
to the Michelle Smith Scholarship Fund will make a meaningful difference to
selected recipients enrolled in the MLitt in Creative Writing, while honouring
the memory of Dr Michelle Smith, literary scholar, poet and author, who passed
away in 2025.
Established
by Michelle’s husband, Professor Matt Smith, the scholarships will be awarded
annually to a student who has demonstrated academic excellence and is
experiencing significant barriers to continuing their education. This
scholarship is intended to support the recipient throughout the writing of
their dissertation, allowing them to focus on their creative potential, free of
financial stress.
Your
gift will help us continue to offer the Michelle Smith Scholarship in years to
come.
