Strathclyde Engineering for Development : Nepal Disaster

On Wednesday 26 August 2026 part of a glacier and a mountainside collapsed high in the Himalayas and a wall of water, rock and mud tore through the valleys.  Entire communities have been swept away and the loss of life is unimaginable. Relief and rescue organisations are currently working to locate survivors and recover bodies. Longer term the difficult task of rebuilding communities will commence.

We believe that getting children back to school is a key step to community rebuild and recovery and this is where you can help.

£6000 will enable us to build a safe and strong centre where children can learn, play and be children.  The buildings will be earthquake proof, constructed of eco-friendly bricks and recycled materials and will last for at least 10 years.

Together we can change the lives of the many children affected by this disaster.

Please support the Nepal Disaster Appeal today by making a one-off donation.
